Schoolboy Q Releases “Blueslides” A Tribute Song For Late Friend And Artist Mac Miller
Schoolboy Q last released an album in 2019. His album entitled “CrasH Talk” was delayed following the death of Q’s friends and fellow artist Mac Miller.
Following the release of this album Q sat down with Charlemagne Tha God where he was asked “You pushed CrasH Talk back last year because of the passing of the good brother Mac Miller, Did you push it back because you were grieving?” Q responded with “The album was supposed to be out in November, Yeah that Mac shit bro, til this day I don’t understand how I can’t call him no more an innocent soul, like losing a friend to gang banging is way different than losing a friend that’s like an innocent little kid” Charlemagne then asked “You remember your last conversation with him?” Q said “Yeah man, it was on FaceTime it’s crazy I played him CrasH Talk before he passed” “He was shooting a video, he was acting weird he was like “who do i gotta call to get you in this video” I was like “Mac what’s wrong with you, You don’t gotta call no body”” Q said laughing talking about his friendship with Miller.
Now, he has released the song “Blueslides” which is the lead single to his new album “Blue Lips” releasing March 1st, 2024. The song refers to passing of Miller in the bar “Lost a homeboy to the drugs, man, I ain't tryna go backwards” It is clear the Schoolboy Q is still grieving the passing of his dear friend Mac Miller, but plans to continue to make him proud through his continued success in the music industry.
